Default unload that gun.

folks, don't take short cuts when it comes to firearm safety. we had one death and another injured in separate incidents here in our little state of nh. due to, i believe, climbing into a tree stand with a loaded ml, thats with the primer in place. be safe

my understanding of it is that one of the guys was even using a rope to pull the gun up into the tree like you should, and a twigg hit and pulled the trigger.

Good post. I havent meet a deer yet that was worth it. Chances are small you will see that wall hanger while your climbing up your tree anyway. And if your gun isnt loaded you will live to hunt again.

A check to make sure the safety was on would have helped, also why would anyone pull up a gun by a rope with it pointing up towards you?
