Hunting in a swawp

Just wondering whats good to use hunting a 3 mile stretch of dirt road through swawp. I leased this land in hopes of landing a big one...any help appricated....

Look for any two large bodies of swamp that are separated by a thin, dry stretch. If there's sign there you should be in a good spot. That's a pinch point. It's also pretty easy to find tracks and trails in soft, muddy ground. Hope this helps.

If that was my hunting condition I would be looking for the areas that funnel the deer towards the road.
Look at the area you're hunting on Google Earth. (Google Earth)
Sometimes those Google views will reveal some good information about the layout of the swamp and it's surrounding lots.
Also, You might see other access roads or logging roads that might give you better access to your lease.

look for tracks and food,the deer are probably using the swamp for bedding cover so look for the thick stuff too.that google earth is an awesome site and its free too

wmi I'm sorry I deleted your post but it's because you made reference to a group we had problems with in the past.
Those brothers are the most unethical that I've ever encountered and I dont believe the owner of this site wants
anything to do with promoting them or their products

Really Bruce?? Wow that suprises me. After all they are from mostly Wisconsin but I never thought they were unethical. Interesting...

By the way they are not brothers and are part owners of Lone Wolf Tree Stands.

Yes I am aware they are not brothers and No I do not have them mixed up with anyone else.
I referred to them as Brothers because that's how they refer to themselves, as 'blood brothers".
And Yes my personal view on those guys are, they are not ethical hunters by no definition,
Now others may see them differently and all I can say to that is, to each their own.
And I don't own a Lone wolf tree stand but I'm pretty sure they don't have any affiliation with Lone Wolf treestands whatsoever,
but I am looking into that for you.

Once the bugs are gone swamp hunting can be really good. I looked for those connecting points of land like a beaver dam. If there is high ground with-in the swamp and you can get there before the deer bed without scenting up the whole area you may have a gold mine. Look for those trails in/out of the swamp and watch the wind. When the leaves change there's nothing painted that's more pretty than the color around the swamp.
