 Shed Antler Trap Ideas? ? ?  Does anyone have a good and safe antler trap for deer idea? ? ?

| you make a trough type feeder and you put a 2x4 rail at antler height so when they bend their head to feed the antlers will hit the 2x4 ,anther type is to make v out of fencing you put the food in the center of the v the antlers get knocked off into the fence i dont know if the deer will get caught in the fence though.

| Are you sure? Of course Baiting illegal as hunting aid in most areas but this is post season. As long as you are not hunting I've not seen any reg.s against feeding deer. Simply all corn or whatever must be gone 10 days prior to hunting there. |

| Half of WI can bait the other half can not but that means that we cant feed them either and I am pretty sure we can't use antler traps either.Just because some people use them does not make it legal. |

| Crittier Gitter You are right you can not in WI. Although baiting is not same as feeding this is two different things. Even addressed as two different things in WI and even though your baiting regs. stay the same in Jan they decided they needed a statewide ban on feeding due to problem with cwd. In fact due to Chronic Waste Disease in WI they not only will have a statewide ban on feeding but also statewide ban on the sell of sense attractants coming from deer biproducts unless from certified cwd free ranch. | You learn something new everyday. I have hunted deer for 22 years and this is the first time I have ever heard of antler traps. When I read the heading I thought it was a joke, like a board strecher. |

 40 years of deer hunting and I've never heard of antler traps! What the heck? What happens the horns get trapped in the wood slats and get yanked out early?  |
