Talking Ok, I read the artic

Ok, I read the article the flood-prone area is lahar teiarrn anyway. That dam will give way like it's made of cardboard when Rainier decides it's time. Grout, or no grout. At least they are thinking about the possibility of flooding IMO there are worse things to fear. Apparently California is having some fun and games with some other elemental forces. As usual. Do the pink ponies protect us from volcanic eruption, too? Rate this comment: 0 0

assuming ammo is a given
my list of things most important would be
proper hunting clothes you will want clothes for all types of weather you would hunt in including hat, gloves, Good pair of boots ect....
compass
backpack
Knife
flashlight
lighter/waterproof matches
emergency kit: snacks, bandaids, pens anything you would need to survive the night

find a good friend/family member to hunt/mentor with.
Be patient success comes from it
good equipment is always a good thing.
be a lifetime ethical hunter
make every hunt a learning experience
practice with your equipment
learn to read the woods and how deer move with-in it that's how you set up your stands.

hope this helps some.

What do you guys think of gps units?
What is ethical hunting?
Brand of clothes suggestions?
I am leaning towards a browning 7 mag synthetic stock with boss system. Thoughts?
is there a good resourse for learning rattles, grunts and smells?

GPs's are handy I use one but always use a compass GPS's sometimes don't work well under heavy cover & batteries die
NRA Hunter's Code of Ethics
will consider myself an invited guest of the landowner, seeking his permission, and so conducting myself that I may be welcome in the future.
I will obey the rules of safe gun handling and will courteously but firmly insist that others who hunt with me do the same.
I will obey all game laws and regulations, and will insist that my companions do likewise.
I will do my best to acquire those marksmanship and hunting skills, which insure clean, sportsmanlike kills.
I will support conservation efforts, which can assure good hunting for the future generations of Americans.
I will pass along to younger hunters the attitudes and skills essential to a true outdoor sportsman

brand of clothes I don't get into the scent free/ blocker stuff myself I just buy bass pro/Cabelas clothes works for me
Sorry don't shoot Brownings can't help you out there

I don't like Boss systems having owned just one. Browning firearms are top notch! 270 win still is a great round. I buy from Bass Pro and Cabelas.

I have done a lot of research on rifles. Seems that anything between a 243 and 300 mag will work. Seems like I need to get the gun I am most accurate with. Would you guys say that a lot of hunters would do well to gget less gun and get more practice?
