It's beginning to look alot like...

hunting season! Boy the temp dropped off yesterday here in Northern Missouri. We've had two days of highs in the upper 50's. Today it has lightly misted part of the day and overcast. Went out hunting last night with my nephew and we saw 7 deer (3 does, 3 fawns, 1 buck) and all were out of range. We actually walked up on 4 of the 7 deer.
Anyone else get out hunting this weekend?

I went out for opening day on Saturday in VA. The military base I normally hunt is closed due to the shutdown. Went to a buddies house he just bought sitting on 12.5 acres. High of about 90 degrees so we hunted the afternoon. Had a spike and 2 does come through but did not present a good shot. Sweated my a$$ off and had to keep wiping down with scent killer wipes. Promising start to the season, just wish my normal hunting grounds were open.

I got to hunt some this weekend. I hunted saturday morning and evening and didnt see a deer. That stand has been hot but nothing saturday. I went back monday morning (off work-Columbus Day) and seen 0. I got a decent size food plot planted and the deer been wearng it out. Got wimter wheat, clover, and radishes. Monday evening I took my son out with me and we changed locations. WE seen 2 does. They got withing 10-15 yrds. I passed on them hoping to see antlers. I figured out why my other stand went cold. The deer are eating the acorns. My 2 man stand is close to a big acorn tree that is dropping right now, Them deer came in hitting them acorn trees...How big was the buck u seen?

Not that big, probably a 2 year old. I'm like you every time I hunt by myself I see nothing but when I take my 11 year old nephew we see deer everywhere!

I'm being serious..... He has hunted with me 5 times now (1 time last year, and 4 times this year) and every time we have seen multiple deer! I keep telling him there will be times when we hunt that we won't see any deer at all but fortunately for him that has not happened yet....
