Gas

I'm a bit embarrassed to mention this, but seeing how we may never meet, I feel comfortable asking it only here.

The day before my hunts I try to take extreme caution with what I consume, but sometimes I still get gas the next day in the stand. I've tried holding it in, but that only produces gastrointestinal pains. I usually end up letting them rip. It doesn't seem to bother the deer. I've had small bucks in front of me and downwind that have never spooked when I do this, so I don't think there is any harm. I would just rather not have to chance it by lifting the leg and letting the air escape.

Just curious if there is anything you do that prevents you from getting gas the next day in the stand.

Thats funny. The weekend before last I had the same problem. Its very rare for me though so i do nothing special or watch my diet at all before the hunt. Maybe someone on here can give you some tips.

Like I said, I don't believe it spooks the deer, I just don't want to have to deal with it if it can be avoided!

Hey man I got that problem regardless of what I eat or what time of day it is. Just be careful if you wear coveralls cuz it'll rise out where your face is WHEW!!!!! Just make it a "whiffer" no sound, silent but deadly type deal. Man I better stop talking now I'm laughing too hard and I don't want to get edited. One more thing, HOT AIR RISES.

I always give myself time for coffee and a good crap before I hit the woods. Now if I could just get my daughter to quit snoring I'd be in business.

yeah rock same here. You gotta hit the john before you hit the woods. You can tell we all give deer hunting/scent alot of thought since passing gas in the woods has crossed each of our minds.

Well I have this problem with the guy I hunt with. On opening day we left the woods early because he had to go to the crapper. He has at times used a plastic bag. The main problem is that he drinks milk before we go to the woods. I have tried to advise him against is, but he won't listen.

That's why there's a roll of toilet paper on my dash from september until february. If he can make it back to the truck, the smell won't bother my hunting. If he don't want to go in the woods, he don't really need to go that bad.
