Bear VS Deer Population

I have been told many times that an area with a lot of bear activity is generally not a good area for deer hunting. one of the spots i have scouted has a tremendous amount of bear activity (8 different bears coming in atleast 2 a day no bait just a travel route) but i am at the same time getting pictures of a lot of deer and a few nice bucks. any thoughts on this.

I believe that bear and deer use the same trails at times and can share a habitat. I have seen bear using deer trails and feeding in the same areas of and on. As long as it's black bear and not brown bear the deer are pretty safe.

thats what i was thinking as well but this is my first year hunting in an area with bears so i wanted to get some opinions on this. they are black bear so the deer should be safe until they step out in front of me!

There are a fair amount of black bears in PA where I hunt, plenty of deer over the years. Boar bears do take many fawn deer in the spring but the two habitate the same areas. I enjoy seeing the bears while hunting. I had one start climbing my ladder stand a few years ago, I didn't like the extreme up close and personal encounter.

In Vermont chances of seeing Bear are high during hunting seasons.
Wildlife share the woods equally, Game, non-game & predators it's home to all of them.

Thank you HM I greatly enjoy watching them too in Texas best thing I could see other than deer were hogs and a few exotics but never anything like a bear. I don’t think I could handle having one start up the stand with me, I know I wouldn’t have liked an encounter that up close and personal either. I actually went last night and helped a guy get a bear he shot out of the woods probably between 250 and 300 pounds normal for this area. before we had it gutted we had a pack of coyotes on all around us in all four directions. We turned our lights off snuck to the four wheelers to get the spotlight waited about 10 minutes hit the light and had at least 5 or 6 on us at once only having a pistol (Sig 9 mm with laser grip) we came up with one. Not bad for a Tuesday night.

Bruce thank you for the response as well this all makes sense to me but as stated just looking for a little assurance as people in this new area for hunting for me have some pretty weird ideas and ways about them….
