TG, Generally speaking, pepperbox handguns are multi-barreled, when the trigger is pulled the gun fires and moves the next barrel into firing position and repeat. These were made for many years and in many ignition systems, flintlock, wheelock, caplock. They were a parlor favorite in the california gold rush days. I have seen up to six barrels on the rotating ones. There may also be a multi-barreled pepperbox that has all the barrels lined up horizionaly, but not sure on that one and how it fires each barrel? One problem was that sometimes the first ignition set off all the barrels , and the outcome was a lost hand or other injuries.
