fall plots My son and i planted some oats and late soybeans today in the dry ground were hoping for a rain tonight, first real good chance in a while I did have good moisture in another area from bean irrigation run off and planted some white tail clover also ... were getting started |
I'm going to PA weekend of Sept 14th to plant something. Probably a mix of rye, clover, radishes ect just to get some green up prior to frost. |

One place i hunt is surrounded by wheat fields, the deer will walk through the wheat to get to the oats patches. |
i agree with you Falcon The oats stay green all winter , they look better than the wheat and the deer will walk to it .. we got a 1 1/2" rain last Saturday , and 2" more with the storm moving through today , and still have good chances tomorrow for more It couldn't be better for the plots we planted dry and the 3 plots i planted last Sunday morning after the rain . i just cant wait to go see how every thing is growing tomorrow after the long drought this is a turning point im pumped |
