backyard hunting

Hi my name is Garrett and i live on whidbey island in Washington. you can use a shotgun or handgun on the island during modern season. there are deer all around and they like to eat the apples falling from the trees everyone has around here. i have like 2 acres and i have this one little place just on the edge of the tree line i would like to set something up to get deer in there. you cant plant an apple tree in there because the sun doesn't shine on it long enough for anything to grow. me and my dad are going to take a lot of trees down so i think that will solve that porblem. its only about 1/4 of an acre and i want to know if i could plant any alfalfa? or should i just make a little deer feeder and put apples in it?
