buck a lot of hunters/outdoors folk for get that they look at the short term here now 6 months down the road and not for the next gen. o have even planted crab apples back where they once was. and seed of native plants in old abandond fields to help their return i would love to walk through the burnt out area i planted the walnuts in 25-to 30 years and see them and the animals that eat them. ill find a list of trees i have not all are food suply trees some are ie a tree that certian birds prefer to nest in or rodants like to nest in in return giving a food sorce to ie bob cats. strangly enough deer seem to like to be around area with bobcat urine. so as hunters we must not only look at what we hunt and better that part but also look at the whole food chain. alot of hunter dont know it or willig to admit it but preditors are good for herds by culling the weak the sick and the poor gentics animals thus insureing a health heard. ie fox and yote numbers rise and fall with the rabbit pop in a cycle in area's whith no preditors for rabit even deer smaller siclkler one mutiply and tend to take over.
like it or not what ever we do to add to the food suply we also make food for another animal
