Buy a PH tester before you decide to lay some lime. I was going to buy $100 bucks worth and i tested my soil and did not even need lime. It was a good deal

Not sure. I got 2 bags of lime, 2 bags of fertilizer, and a small bag of Alfa-rack and it was like 90 bucks.

I bought a $15 ph tester and tested my soil then had a landscaping company test my soil to see how accurate my ph tester was. They were darn near the same.

that will tell you the ph but if you send it out they can tell you how much and what flavor fertilizer you need to put down. maybe you need more organics or something.

those ph testers work but like ronn said they wont tell you what you need to add otherwise do the soil samples if you skimp in the begining your going to pay through the nose the whole rest of the time

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky
