sample pack

I got the sample pack i ordered today from Whitetail Institute. They have a couple different packs. The one I got came with a dvd telling about their different seeds and about plots. They have a few interesting things in there. One that I liked the looks of was Imperial Extreme. Not exactly sure what it is but it suppose to grow in soil with a ph as low as 5.4. its a perrinial. I planted one of the packs in the plot that is real buleberry looking. Anyway the dvd is well worth watching for those guys thinking about or doing food plots. check them out online.

ronn, got back last night. Spent two days looking at properties in the UP of Michigan located close to my brother-in-laws. Pretty remote stuff. I would like to buy something for a retirement summer home, something small I can close up and not worry about through the winter. They get lots of deep snow. Good hunting for deer/bear.

HM i keep reading that the UP is "if its brown its down territory" might want to take that with a grain of salt.hope your vacation went well.On a side note with housing prices and forclosures at all time high you can score a nice house cheap

joel to be real honest, I don't see much difference in Michigan, Ohio or PA with regards to the if its brown its down. Seems like everyone just wants to fill a tag. Hunting pressure is pretty high in these three states and maybe thats the issue.

HM did you have clover or alfalfa in that plot that went south on you? What i got out of that dvd was, clover in the heavy wetter soil, river bottoms, and alfalfa on the slopes, faster draining soil. the second thing it said was don't use fertilizer with nitrogen in it because these 2 plants make their own and if you add it it helps the weeds. should be a 0-something-something.
