| on_the_fly | 12-15-2010 09:20 AM | your looking cheep ya need to be flea marketing, craig list , places like that for a used set up. fly fishing is like every thing else and i think is even more all about ya get what you pay for. for bass , (large mouth, small mouth, stripe) i would be looking into 9wt rods, for your large stripe and pike, and carp if your looking at catching fish above 20 lbs i would tend to say you realy need to look at 11wt rods, but for the avarage big fishing on fly rods the 9 wt is prety good and can also be use for some smaller fishing to (with a little over powering with smaller flies but can be done.. you should be looking at bout $200 for a decent set up. like bruse said B-pro has their name brand they also carry temple fork (wich TP is the rods i personaly use n love) but their are many many good name brand rods, Sage is another good rod, |
