Well, I got back home for the NY opening day of regular gun season Saturday, but this is the first chance I've had to return to the forum.
Anyway, I checked the NY regulations & found this:
"Please note: the law allowing use of crossbows expired on December 31, 2012. Crossbows may no longer be used for hunting in New York."
Crossbows were legal last year during the regular (gun) season. Hopefully, they will be allowed again in the future.
I was always against crossbows for archery hunting because I felt that that archery season was supposed to be a primative season, but compound bows changed that. I made the decision to get a crossbow when I started having shoulder problems and could no longer draw a vertical bow.
Life tends to change your attitudes when you get older, I guess.
