Default Muzzy vs Rage

I have to admit the 6 pt buck was taken even though I made a poor hit on him. He was in close so I took a pretty high downward shot which I was too high hitting him in the spine breaking his back. The buck went down immediately and had to be dispatched. The reason for the post is, using the muzzy MX3 broadheads shows they have what it takes to get the job done and why I have faith in them. Two bucks shot by my good hunting buddy this year were shot with Rage 3 blades and both traveled well over 400 yds and we recovered one of them. His 9 pt in PA traveled only 60 yds. He is going to try the new Rage 2 blade with the twist tip. I've seen too many deer hit with the rage 3 blade heads, travel long ways or not recovered to ever reccomend them. I've used many many broadheads over the years but the Muzzy line of broadheads, especially the MX3's, have me convinced they are at the top of the list. Everyone has their favorite broadhead, I thought I'd pass along some in the field observations that took place this year. Of the three deer shot this year I had one that went 60 yds, one 20 yds and the last one down on the spot. Muzzy's bad to the bone.

HM again they need to stop using the 3 Blades LOL
seriously 2 Blades are a ton better my 8 pointer in NY was taken with my trusty 2 blades entered junst behind front shoulder took out main arteries top of heart just nicking top of heart & exited through right front shoulder (Yes through the bone ) complete pass through he piled up about 40-50 yards from me first time I have ever seen one go down like that
& I know I have mentioned this before but since using the Rage broadheads I have never had one go over 100 yards
this is my 5th deer kill using the rage
Of course You knew I was going to chime in LOL

I knew and that you are using the 2-blade. The giant 8 pt my buddy hit, one of the blades failed to open. I hate the Rage 3 blades. He lost the biggest buck of his life. The nice 9 pt he did take was his 70th bow shot deer. My son has switched over to the 2-blades also. I had serious thoughts of shooting my buck just under/behind the ear, I know he'd go down on the spot. The crossbow has given myself and my neighbor/hunting buddy new archery life. With 4 shoulder surgeries, 2 on each side, my Michigan buddy will at some point have to switch to a crossbow to stay in the woods. Crossbows aren't for everyone however they do allow those that have physical issues to keep hunting and that's good enough for me.

I agree HM I almost went to one when I blew out mine I am lucky it only took PT to fix it funny thing is it is the strongest it has ever been
I have no issues with crossbows other then I had spent almost a grand on my new bow then was looking at a crossbow (they aint cheap either)
If they can keep hunters like yourself & myself in the woods I am all for them
& remember 2 BLADES NOT 3 BLADES

The old saying that you can't have too many toys, NOT TRUE! I would hate to add up all the $'s spent over a lifetime of hunting. I probably could be retired.........

Funny Hellbilly but I have never had one issue with my Rage 2 blades
I know most broadheads are a personal thing Fixed Vs mechanical
2 vs 3 vs 4 blades but to call them raggedy & fall apart well they are not crappy broadheads I have never had one fall apart, break or malfunction
best blood trails I have ever seen
I have shot 6 deer using them 3 so far with the same blades & still razor sharp
I have used Muzzy's long ago & have no issues with them
but as far as I am concerned I will stick with the 2 blade rages as long as the the quality remains
