I recall seeing a post on a college playoff system for this bowl selection. My friend who lives in Utah and coaches high school for many years out there said that he hates the BCS so much beacuse of the way the bowls are selected that he has no interest in the Bowl games and he is a die hard fan of BYU and Utah. He also said that there should be a playoff system incorporated but "they" say it will never work and there will never be a true champion determined until this happens. Makes me wonder a bit. Any input??????
I believe the bowl system is corrupt and puts money in the pockets of the NCAA & school admins in order to keep the status quo. Things won't be right until there's a 16-team playoff just like what's being done for Div I-AA, Div-II, & Div-III. People laugh at government intervention but that might be just what it takes to get it done. A 4-6 team playoff done by the BCS would only make matters worse.
A playoff system is the only way to choose a champion.. It will take something drastic to change how it is now.. Just like LSUfan said its all about the money for school admins..
I'm not a big fan of the bcs system, however, by the time you got through a 16 team playoff injuries would play a major role in who wins and then are you getting each team's best performance? College football needs a change for the NC winner, I don't know whats the best move. It is all about money, but what in sports isn't?
Yeah!!!!!!!!! Penn State showed LSU!!!! They won 19-17. As far as I know Ohio's Rose Bowl win was the third for the Big Ten. Wisconsin beat Miami in the Champs Sports Bowl.
You'd hate to think it takes the gov't to intevene on this, but it doesn't seem like the NCAA will make changes w/o some prodding. It's not like college football fans haven't been begging for a playoff for....oh....15 years or so.
Maybe a 4 or 8 team playoff would be a nice compromise. Maybe then we'd get more games like Boise State vs OK a couple of years ago.
