I have been in deep thought for some time now and I want to make it very clear that my beliefs have not changed nor will they. I believe what I believe because it is the basis of my beliefs as a Christian. It is up to you and others to decide whether you want to believe in Jesus Christ as I do. I live my life for Him and by His grace and mercy, He helps me through my every day.
I think you have mistaken me when you say “yet consider anyone who doesn’t follow your religion’s beliefs as being a sinner”. This is not fully accurate. You see, I am a sinner as well. I am not perfect, by any means- nor do I claim to be. I am not in a position to force people to see my way or my beliefs- my goal is to spread God’s love for us to everyone that I can.
I believe we will have to agree to disagree on the hate speech issue. When I look up hate speech, I see the word “discrimination” and also “speech or actions that can incite violence”. There are people in this world who are against hunters and they simply do not agree with it (not in a radical kind of way). If what you are saying is accurate, then they would be participating in hate speech. There are people who are republicans who do not see eye to eye with democrats, so if what you are saying is accurate, this would be hate speech. Lastly, you do not agree with my beliefs and my “religion”, so can I too deem this as hate speech?
My stance remains. I do not hate anyone, but I do not agree with every lifestyle. I do not see this as hate speech just because it disgusts me according to my beliefs. The fact that this is a “sin” according to my beliefs is something that I respect and truly live by- just the same as you have ideas and beliefs in your life that that I don’t agree with, but I do not disrespect your beliefs or your “religion”.
I’m not looking for a compromise; I’m not looking for forgiveness or an apology. My faith and trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ whom I live by and share a close personal relationship with. Am I perfect? No, absolutely not. Am I a sinner? Yes sir. Does that make me a bad person? I don’t think so. The reason Jesus died on the cross for our sins is because He wanted to pay the price for our sins. Jesus went against God when doing this. Jesus paid the ultimate price for everyone who would live on this earth- He died for our sins. All we have to do is believe in Him and what He did for us, and we are saved. As far as the sin goes, if we are saved, and ask for forgiveness and repent from our sins, He will forgive us. Not only will He forgive us, He’ll forget it too. He does not hold forgiven sin over our heads. Based on my beliefs, everyone sins. Are there days where I do not sin? Probably, but sin comes in many forms and varieties. The notion that a person does not sin ever would mean, according to my beliefs, that they are Jesus- because you see, Jesus was the only perfect human being to ever live on earth. Now is it wrong to want to be like Jesus? No, but there is a strong line between being like Jesus and actually being Jesus. This is my choice to believe this. I have MANY friends and even family members who do not believe these beliefs. I pray for them. I completely get that you do not agree with me. That is fine, I truly understand that and I respect that. It is my hope, however, that I can be there for you in any way you may need.
I have truly enjoyed talking with you Scorpion and I hope to continue. I respect you and your stance and though we disagree, it is my hope that we can remain respectful and friends on the DHC. I am envious of you, however, because I would love to visit Alaska someday! I have always wanted to go there and spend time- and I hope to someday.
This song is a pure example of what I believe in. This song speaks what my life and my beliefs are all about. Watch it if you want.
