Thats a tough one. I had something similar happen after ten years with the company. I came back from Disney after a weeks vacation with my family to be told on Monday morning I was done. It is a rotten feeling, however I have been in college since it happened and on the upside next spring will be graduating. Good luck with your job search...

How is the job search going? You can always apply for Bridgestone's IT work. I hear they are some of the most overpaid in the industry. I believe you would have to move to Nashville TN though!
Have had one good telephonic interview and am awaiting word now from their hiring manager. At least I've gotten this far in the job search in "only" a couple of weeks. Feel very fortunate when compared to some out there looking for a job.

Good news is that the new hire packet arrived in the mail today and I'm supposed to start work again on Monday.
Bad news is that I can't "sleep in" to 8 any more. Will have to rise a lot earlier to make it to work.
It's not really the job that I wanted, but am not going to be complaining. Am grateful though to have been picked up so quickly when compared to a lot of other folks around the country.
