I have been hunting in this spot for a month and seen 3 deers,i have used scent's and feed and nothing works.any suggestions in very helpful?
my guess is you've created a routine that has allowed the deer to pattern you.
Do you enter the woods from the same area each time you hunt? If so try going in from a different entrance.
Do you hunt specific times of the day? If so try hunting different times.
Do you hunt from the same stand locations? If so try moving to other locations in the area.
Also, from this point on, (in this particular area anyway) try to avoid using scents or calls, more than likely the deer are familiar with the scents you're using and the calls you're making.
Good luck and keep us posted
There is another possibility. There may only be three deer in the area. If I had hunted one place and seen three deer, I would certainly consider moving. The exception being if I was setup on a mature buck and had confidence at some point he would come by.
It is quite possible all of your calling and scents has tipped off every deer in 30-acres you are there. Without seeing why you chose the spot, I can make no suggestions.
When consulting, I continualy find hunters who have stands in places I would never put one. When asked ho many deer thery see, often, the answer is from none to few. When asked why they put the stand there, the answer is always, "It looked like a good place.".
I often had stands in places that little or no deer sign. I put them for one reason, I had confidence that when the traveling started, that was where the mature buck would travel. Sometimes, I was right and the evidence is on my wall. Many times I was right but it took place at night. Sometimes, I was dead wrong. But always...always, there was a lot more to it than "It looks like a good place".
If you've seen 3 deer, why haven't you harvested one yet?? Some people go their whole season and never see 1 deer.
