metal detectors

Does anyone have any experience and or leads to good quality metal detectors. My most current need is to locate lost arrows but the unit should be adaptable to other future ventures. I dont need the most expensive available but by the same token I dont want something that just finds aluminum foil in the grass.

No vast experience here but with a cheapo I borrowed from a friend. I think he said he paid about $100.

I lost my wedding ring while climbing a tree with my climber. The ring fell into about 6 inches of leaves. The el cheapo detector picked it up no problem.

Played with it in the yard a little bit. Found some old trash. Basically nuts and bolts type stuff.

I know this doesnt help alot but for just finding arrows and playing with one I would go with an el cheapo to start.

Thats probably just what I will end up doing. I would rent one if we had a rental place around here. the one we had closed up and went away. besides, I got to save up for a new bow this winter.
