Hey guys. I was doing some yardwork the other day and without paying attention weedeated the side of a small growing oak tree.It looks like a few scrapes now...but im sure it will end up hurting the tree in the long run....or will it?..if so is there any way you guys know to curb the effects of it.thanks.

Not that I'm by any means a tree expert but I think it would depend on how deep the cuts are and how big the tree is.
If it goes through the bark then you need to seal them as soon as possible. You can buy that stuff at any home store or Ace Hardware.

and if the bark is cut all the way around in one spot then it might be a gonner.

Try Prunning sealer. It's a black gunk thats seals a limb where ya prune it. I use it on fruit trees. Might work. I've always h3eard that the life of a tree runs through the outer edge rather that the heart.
