need info

does anybody know of a website i can go to to find out how old or the date of manufacture is for a firearm by entering its ser#?any info would be great!!

I have one and my friend has on.i have a savage mdl 99 feather weight takedown with the brass rotory magazine.and my friend has an old ithica lever action single shot 22cal.

I have a serial number breakdown on the savage 99, if you pm me i'll run it for you. There are simply too many to list. here is a brief breakdown. 1920-1930 serial 229,000-334,500, 1930-1940 334,500-398,400, 1940-1950 398,400-566,000.
