Default Davey Crockett

Being from Tennessee I have tried to learn what I can about our states most well known pioneer. I recently came across this story as told by Davie himself and I thought it rather appropriate today's political climate.

I have to wonder what this country would be like if there had been more men like this in Congress. Davie Crockett was a U.S. congressman from 1827-1835 and when he missed re-election to office by a narrow margine he was quoted as saying to his fellow Tennesseans "You may all go to hell and I'm going to Texas" and you probably know the rest of the story.

It's a long read but provides some interesting insite to how far this country has changed.
