Something about this time of year...

The colors are beautiful, the rain is falling, woodstove is going, all nestled in my home, with the smell of apple pie filling the air. Just gotta love it. Though I am sure by winters end, I will be so looking forward to spring again. There is something about the country this time of year. You see nature getting ready for bed, (the long winters rest), the woods are starting to reveal what summer has been hiding in the thick foliage. Though I may only get a glance before it puts it's blanket of white on, (which they are calling for snow tonight), it takes my breath away. Reminds me of a poem I wrote as a child...
I walk in the woods, because it's so good, to know the smell of pine, which really is devine. And here, is where I understand, how all nature does expand..

As crazy as this world is getting, you can forget it all when your in the woods... ESCAPE TO VERMONT

The coming snow tempts me to drive up to the NEK (northeast kingdom) this weekend but,
it's opening weekend for Archery season, BUT then again some fresh fallen snow would be awesome for tracking a Monster Buck!

You get out there and enjoy it now, as rifle season may be tuff if it's anything like last year. Deep snow! See any good shrooms (toad stools) grap em. Gonna be searching myself.
Stay safe and good luck. Weekend is supposed to be good.

Don't take it for granted. Some people don't experience the visual changing of seasons. Sad.......

We cannot continue to do the same things and expect different results

Fall is my favorite time of the year. Right now in N. Ohio we're in the high 40* perfect bowhunting temperature. By early Nov we should have the same weather in PA for a week and half of hunting, lows in the 30* and high near 50*.

It's still getting into the 80s here during the day...down to about 50s at night. Deer season opened yesterday, and I will try to hunt this weekend if the wind cooperates.

Well in case anyone was wondering if the NEK got snow, the answer is NO. Just some hail, and cold temps. Weather is supposed to be good for the weekend, bit windy, but thats ok, still have leaves on the trees.
