| |  Homeowner protects himself
I just seen on my local news were a burglar broke a door down and made is way into a dude'd house. The homeowner was waiting on him with a gun. A shoot-out insued and the homeowner won. I tried to find a link to it on the channels website but couldn't find it. I dont like the fact that people get killed but I do like the fact that it was not the innocent homeowner. Maybe that will help make these armed robbers think twice about breaking in peoples homes.

I hear you on that one. I support the home owner 100%. His actions were certainly justified.

To me when a person breakes into any home the home owner should have the right to protect his or her family at all costs!!!!but thats my opinion!! Does anybody agree?

I pitty the fool that breaks into my house. My wife is a great shot. I just hope the sound of the shot wakes me up LOL.  |

no question about it, the thief gets one right under the law, the right to possibly to die. I think we're going to hear more stories like this one as people get more desperate for money/food/drugs ect. I don't have any answers for it, I hate politics and the 2 choises we have, but Kimber, Colt, Smith & Wesson will have a deciding vote should one need to be taken.

The laws all differ slightly from state to state but in NY there's a section in the Penal Law and Criminal Procedure Law called Article 35: Defense of Justification. It basically states when a person could use deadly physical force given the certain situations that would justify the use. If the robber had a shootout with the homeowner and tried to escape from the home and the homeowner shot him in the back and killed him then the homeowner may be charged with murder because the robber was making an attempt to flee and became less of a threat downgrading justification. That's how NY would be but the laws in other states may be similar but I don't know. But back to topic, the homeowner was justified in his actions. I think I may have rambled a bit.

One less scumbag, that's a good thing.
In Tennessee if they are in your house you have a reasonable right to assume they mean you or your family bodily harm, whether they are armed or not. It don't matter what direction they are facing when you shoot them. Outside the home is different you must be in fear of bodily harm from an attacker, if you draw a weapon and the attacker runs you can't shoot.
South Carolina has the best gun law I've ever seen. Any resident can carry a weapon in the the console or glove box of the car. What I don't like about SC gun laws are they do not honnor any other states carry permits.
