I take a note pad and doddle/draw on it......

Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand.

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky

tv in deer stand

I take my 12 v. tv to deer stand so I can watch local news/weather till it gets daylite. Also in Nov. when they run at tex motor speedway, I can watch Dale Jr. lead the pack coming out of corner four then look over at my feeder pen and watch all the nice 8 pointers. Ant life grand!

I like to sit and watch my surroundings too, but I get bored after awhile and without my bible I would fall asleep and I don't want to miss anything.

Pretty cool how everyone does something different. I love to watch the red & grey squirrels, and the chickadees especially if one lands on your bow or even hat. Between late morning owls, raccoons, porcupines, grouse, turkey & deer, I usually stay occupied. Problem with red squirrels is once they see you everything in the woods knows you're there. It's funny though to have one 2' away trying to figure out what you are, it might take 15 minutes for them to finally shut up and leave.
