Rebate checks??

Have ya'll got yours yet? I got mine sometime last week. Its still sitting in the savings account. I wonder if Americans will spend it like Washington hopes they do? Give me some of your thoughts. You think it will stimulate the economy or what. I have the mind that it will help a little but not enough. I think most folks will just hang onto the extra cash, pay off credit cards or use it for gas and food money. Me.. I will just be hanging on to it for awhile.

Gas did go down a bit the other day. I got it on Sat at $3.37. What are ya'll paying for it?

Still waiting here. I had to pay Uncle Sam this year because they said I made too much profit on my stocks so the rebate softens the blow. My rebate goes toward my sons tuition bill...in one pocket and out the other.
Gas is $3.57/gal. Heating oil just topped $4.00/gal for the first time. Seriously considering selling my truck and downsizing to a 4 cyl hybred.

I think it's the most rediculas thing I've ever heard. Some politicians want to bad mouth President Bush for his tax cuts and then increase taxes but when the economy weakens a little what do they do. Give us a rebate on money we paid in to begin with. I don't get it. Why is it bad on the one hand and the thing to do on the other?

Still waiting for the small check, gas is 3.59/gal. With daughter still in college I will share with her 50/50. I get next to nothing but claiming her nets us I think $600.00????

we got a rebate from the feds and the city/state plus the govt check.Ill use it to pay rent and household bills.I guess that leaves mee some extra money which ill buy food and gas with in NY gas is 3.85 to 4.00 .i try to fill up in NJ where i paid 3.45 may 1.I drive a 4 cyl car so im not hurting as bad cost about 35- 40 to fill and i go for 350 miles avg .both city/highway

I don't want to rub it in but I made my last payment for my daughters college in March. What a great feeling. She will graduate with a four year nursing degree that only took five years! That's better than a pay raise and makes the Fed rebate look like chump change.

we got ours yesterday, we are planning on putting the money towards a new deck out back. at least ill have a place to set when im broke from buying gas.

I think the stimulus will help some. Nothing is gonna do much until soaring fuel prices are controlled.

Gas is $3.45 here in AR. Diesel $4.05
