ATV Plastic
Hey guys,

My Father-in-Law game me an older 4 Wheeler. It is mechanically sound -- actually, it runs really well. But two of the fenders are cracked. I would like to know if anyone has any tips on repairing ATV plastic. I would also like to know if anyone has any tips on painting ATV plastic. I have seen kits on the web, and have even thought about buying an inexpensive (relatively speaking, of course) plastic welder, but I just wonder how well they work. Have any of you had experience with either the welder or a repair kit?

I looked at a couple of sites that offer replacement plastics, but the $300.00+ price tag is worth more than the 4 wheeler!

Thanks in advance...

If the plastic weld doesn't work you might try a fiberglass patch. The kit comes in various sizes at the auto parts stores and it's not very expensive.

I have heard of people repairing (welding) ATV plastics and I have also heard of guys repairing with fiberglass kits...
I can't say one way or the other which is better BUT If you want to paint plastic I have used Krylon Fusion spraypaint and it worked GREAT!!!

here's a link to check out Krylons Fusion paint for plastic
Good Luck...

Great tips! I will def. try the fiberglass kit. And the Krylon for Plastics is perfect. Silly of me not to have thought of that! I was really worried about all of the sanding/priming!
