Ah, bring the beauty to SouthEast Alaska. We have potholes and gravel roads that will bring tears to the eyes (and gonads) of the bravest of man and the most lifted of trucks.

Anybody remember the cars of old? My first car, a V-6 2.6L Mercury Capri 2600 had all of 9 wires under the hood, if I recall. 6 were for spark plugs, 2 were for battery, and one was starter keyswitch. Oh, and headlights. Manual steering (no power, made a MAN out of your forearms). No computer controlled nothing. I'd drive the backwoods orchard country and farm roads of SouthCentral PA all day in that "grey ghost". Even had a CB radio and an 8-track!!!

Gawd I'd love to have that car back!

When I had my 1977 Ford free wheeling van it had a Cobra xl 29 cb and dual antennas with a Turner power mike, chrome side pipes, louvers on the rear windows, headers, bay window, 4 captain chairs, moon roof, and soft deer hide on the floor for well.......... those were the days!

Not to thread-steal, but a car seemed to be one of those steps towards freedom and manhood. For some reason kids don't see it that way anymore. I worked my butt off in high school at a job so I could afford the car just so I could work more and have my own money (which translated to freedom). Seems like most kids these days see the hand-held-out-to-dad-looking-for-money as the step towards the same freedom.
