bad day

well had a really bad day today. The underground power to my home failed, at least the neutral and ground, which may as well be all of it. Now looking at a whole new power in system and 3-4K ouch!!!!! The underground supply was put in in 1994 and should not have failed??? Ran a temp supply from garage to house to power house back up for now. Contractor said with the wires in conduit they are most likely frozen and can't be pulled till spring thaw. I may opt for two meters and run a new house overhead feed to it. However, the power company requires a full engineering study and ..............

how far is the run? Yea, power company stops were it goes underground. they should be able to get it engineeried quick to get you back up

Sorry to hear that HM. I've never heard of that happening unless it was nicked by a bucket or something fraying it.
