Tile Question
 

Im considering laying tile on a finished concrete floor. I have heard folks say you should etch the smooth finish of the floor first before you lay the tile. Yall have any thoughts on that?

I know from experience that sometimes a silicone sealant is used to seal concrete, which may be a problem with the grout or whatever adhesive you use. Home Depot, Lowes type stores probably would know. Hunting is over, projects are in!

No You Do Not Need To Etch It But You Do Need To Seal It. If Water Swets Through It Will Ruin All Of You Hard Work And You Will Have To Tear It Up And Start Over. Go To Lowes For Pros.com And They Should Have The Basics On There

i know home depot has a how to page you can click on.ive used this for many projects.i will tell you this tile on concrete can be a pain cuz if ya flood you have to rip it up.i would seal it and then paint it and thats that

TNHunter is rght, Should seal the floor first in case of water seapage. Wish I could remember what I've used in the past. Like already mentioned, if it floods nothing is going to help it though.
