savage 410
 

went to a local gun show and traded a derringer I picked up a month ago for $75 traded for a savage single shot 410. The 410 is in nice condition. I already have a marlin bolt action 410 that my dad gave me when I was 8yrs old. It was used then.I had it totaly redone a year ago,and really dont want to mess with it. Question is, Do I just leave it alone and use it for cats,tree rats.possums,ect. Or Im thinking of having it cut down to 18.25" and use it as a truck gun with slugs,and or in the house with #4 buck shot

I've never been a fan of "single shots" for home defense for obvious reasons. Seems like a good tool for rats, snakes and other critters. My opinion...... I'd leave it like it is. Whatever you choose, have fun!

I have a Rossi single shot .410 that I have considered cutting down and making a scabbard to carry it on my 4 wheeler.
