Spent over 2 hours on the phone just trying to cancel this service. Their customer service sucks and I will never use them again. Could not understand the Phillipino people to save my life! I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! Just need to vent and go beat something!
Still havent got it canceled. Hung up after being on hold for 38 mins the fifth time I was transfered or told to call another number.
The American service was just as bad. No one I talked to was in the correct dept to help me cancel.
A while back we had a problem with aol, a guy in India actually took a supper break while he put us on hold, before we got it fixed! Customer service BF, you could go out and chew on your 4-wheeler seats.
Have handed the phone to the better half "after" telling Hughes customer service exactly what I thought of their lack of 'service'. What I hate is their use of pre-determined scripts that they "have" to follow before being allowed to bring in a supervisor - and they treat all of their customers as if they are complete morons that know nothing about a computer or anything at all about computer networking.
Still have Hughes, but primarily because there isn't anyone else who can get us internet service living so far out in the middle of nowhere.

P.S. Mama says to simply not pay the bill. Maybe that will get their attention!
We had them back when they were still "direct way " sat Internet, and out here other than dial up was only options. A few years ago dsl was run through here and we couldn't get it fast enough. I would never recommend satilight Internet to anyone. I also hated it, hated it, hated it lol
My dad had trouble with hughesnet b/c they told him the speed would be MUCH faster than wildblue so he switched. Ended up not being even close to wildblue. He called and used the "Better Business Bureau" words and hughes allowed him out of his contract absolutely free with NO money spent. It worked- he may have had to file a complaint with the BBB as well... not sure.
