Videoing hunts

I was wondering if any of you all do this? My wife and I just bought a new Sony Handicam and I'm going to try to film my hunts this year. We got a bundle deal with ours that came with an extra battery and a tripod. I'm going to be hunting out of box blinds mostly with my rifle and I'm going to set up the tripod in the box blind and try my hand at it. Took me awhile, but finally found the sound controls on my camera and shut them off. I'm not going to even attempt filming from a tree stand. That's not something I want to get into. But I don't think filming from my box blind will be that big of a deal. Wish me luck

Sometimes I will use my digital camera to take some vids. Never got the opp to shoot both gun and video though. In the playback the camera buttons make an incredibly loud noise but nothing can hear it because it is so close to the mic.

I have the same cam,How did you turn the sounds off?

hellbilly- i'll have to look at mine and then write down the steps. It was pretty easy. I know I started with menu and from there I'll have to get back to you!

Eventually you'll come to a SOUND OFF / ON button and you just select it to be OFF. that will stop it from making that dinging sound when you hit REC and when you open up the screen panel. It's completely silent now.

I bought a cheap video camera & mounted it to my bow works OK if you remember to turn it on
brought it to NY hunt to film & realized after shooting an 8 pointer & having it go down 50 yards from me I never turned the darn thing on

I have the "epic action cam" I realy Ike it. Can clip on my hat, strap to my bow or gun, and have a rain case for it and only weights 3 oz's

Hellbilly-
Ok I have the SONY HANDYCAM that has 80gb of storage: here's the steps,,,

1. press MENU
2. at the bottom left of the screen press SHOW OTHERS
3. use the scroll arrow on the left side of the screen and scroll down to the wrench looking tool (it's all the way at the bottom)- Press it
4. select SOUND/DISP SET
5. Press BEEP
6. Select OFF

That should do it- if you have any other questions about this- let me know!
