when the game field changes Has anyones deer woods taken a drastic change? or even a subtle but noticeable change this year. This year during the storm season a lot of trees in my area came down. so much as to have an affect on deer travel trails. in many areas it dont even look recognizable anymore. At the beginning of the season, I was walking under a half of a large oak that split and fell against another large oak. last time out, I was stepping over the fallen giant. I guess they don't make a sound. |
Had some trees down, no biggie but for the first time in a few years had a massive mast crop. made it a little tough to zero in on them. Since I was primarily doe hunting, I didn't have much of a problem and in our area, (27-county zone) The kill was up quite a bit and some good bucks killed. post season I need to move one stand due to trees down and place two new ones due to some stuff I found a few days ago. Otherwise, no changes unless storms tear help out of everything this spring. |
After Hurricane Katrina our woods were pretty much demolished. Worst hunting season of my 19 year hunting career. |
We've had severe ice damage that took down trees and blocked travel routes and the deer just made new ones. |
We had a bad ice storm a few years ago , Its just getting right again |
