Cover scented chewing gum?

Here's the thing that throws me off about the chewing gum though, I just bought a pack yesterday.

A.) The flavor says "Natural Mint" and I'm not exactly sure if I can roll with that idea. Does it really smell like something growing out in the wild? And why wouldn't it spook a deer especially later in the fall when wild mint probably isn't around.

B.) It looks like a piece of Dentyne Ice and probably holds its flavor about as long, meaning I would have to have about a pack to cover the breath for a day.
C.) "Listerine kills germs that cause bad breath". End of discussion.

Flavored chew (wintergreen especially) that's some strong smell...

you don't think Deer can smell Alcohol? lets say someone downs a 5th of Vodka or a case of Budweiser and drives up to a State Cop and asks him for Directions... Think that Cops little nose will detect a little alcohol smell? If a cop can smell it don't ya think a Deer might have the edge on smelling abilities?

You question A Deer's Intelligence? YET you're the one that's using smoke to try to cover your smell, you're the one worried about your movements and you're the one breathing out your nose so they can't catch wind of your foul breath you're dressing in special clothing, hiding in tree stands, you always walk slowly and quietly..... and you Question A DEER'S Intelligence??? a DEERS? yeah,,,, how smart can they be?

Bruce, congratulations on quitting smoking. That is a huge feat, my friend!

I never said deer were plain dumb, I only said they aren't as smart as we give them credit for. Bruce, try to comprehend what I'm saying before you jump the gun to bash me.

Whitetail_Ent, Thank you, Quitting smoking was very tough. Now about bashing you. I didn't, I was only responding to what you posted and I comprehend it very well.
Deer aren't stupid and If anything, I think we tend to disregard their actual Intelligence and try to believe we can easily outsmart them, History has already proven we can outsmart them but not easily....
Buckfever probably felt like he was being bashed about the smokeless tobacco, He openly admits he's addicted to it but he doesn't try to deny it's affects on his hunts He didn't need me reminding him of it. He know's what he's up against but other hunters may not know that it's affecting their hunts..

NOW after looking back I noticed I didnt' even address the GUM Question. Totally forgot...

GUM probably does help fight bad breath But GUM also has a nice strong Minty smell SO the bottom line with Gum is don't use it in the woods.
IF you think you have bad (deer alarming) breath, gargle with Listerine after breakfast and brush well before heading into your hunting spot.

i agree with bruce for the most part..although my uncle who is a smoker is always smoking in his blind, i have hunted with him for years to witness it. And every year he is the one to get a deer.

As far as the gum goes i dont by it. I dont think someones breath could be that bad. Not saying the deer wont smell it, but i dont think they could recognize it as a particular smell. Just me though, i dont know everything. Maybe they think the gum smells appetizing..

If deer are smarter than I give them credit for, don't you suppose they can smell the residual listerine and then realize it is comming from a human?

TY burgerking, a lot of smokers get deer every year those are the one's that are aware of their smoke and it's affects. maybe being in a blind is what helps your uncle out, that's probably what makes the difference for him compared to someone who's just out in the open smoking... . make sense?

But it is just a make shift blind with no roof, just made from branches ya know? i have no idea what its effects are, im just saying he smokes and gets one every year.
