Deer can see well at night and 4 of 5 times they will not spook from light (flashlights, headlights, spotlights, etc.) I'm not sure about the night vision goggles because I never had the opportunity to use them but it seems like a good idea. OH NO, I FORGOT THAT IT'S ILLEGAL, BAD IDEA, SORRY MAN.

ILLEGAL I DO THINK. it would stink to lose your bow and license for the year. along with whatever other equipment the warden decides to take.

most deer I come across are not spooky of lights they will stand there and stare at it for awhile first. We are allowed to shine deer here and they dont run away when shined upon.

better check your regs critter, I've never heard of shining being legal anywhere. Just cause somebody said it was ok doesn't mean it's legal. you wouldn't want to find out the hard way...

up here you can shine lights on a deer as long as your weapons are LOCKED UP otherwise your going to jail.Night hunting for deer is most likely illegal where you are and if it isnt istill wouldnt go.Sounds like a good way to get hurt or killed.

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky
