i need advice
ok so im hunting a very hilly parcel of land. on the south edge about 20 yards on someone else property i found about 30 rubs and 20 scraps in less the 100 yards that is on the field side of a tree row. the field is nothing but scattered cedars and tall grass. to my knowledge there is no crop land or thick brush so my guess is the buck is bedding in the field. Would he be dependent on acorns for his diet? How far will ths buck travel from this area? Everytime i go there i find more rubs and scraps. Would that buck be the only one rubbing within my 40acres? I have found rubs next to salt licks but on tigs compared to the others in his "rub/scrap" line. I know the fundamentals i need to be hunting as close to rubs as possible but would i be better off in the timber 50 or so yards as some people say bucks "hang back" well this one is showing off in broad day light.
