Default Limbsaver Everlast String Leech

Have a question on installing the String Leeches. I have not used these in the past, and I am installing them on my compound bow today. Once the Leeches are put on the string, do they have to be tied off like the peep site is? Or do you just install and shoot? Thanks for any help.
