I'm still excited for him... he's in school and i'm sitting here at home waiting patiently for him to get home so we can go to the check station to report it in.
Thanks for entering the pic for us, I actually thought the cut off age was 15 so I didn't even look into it but he'll be happy to hear he's in the contest once again..

yeah when we started that contest last year we went by the ages that tennessee uses to determine their youth hunts. i wonder if its any different in other states?

congrats to the both of you on the doe. Here in Wi. a youth hunter is 12 - 16yr.

Vermonts youth hunt is for 15 and under, soon as you turn 16 you're no longer considered a youth hunter..

ours is age 6 to 16. on our young sportsman hunts someone 21 or older has to be with them at all times. which is awesome. i dont like the thought of a party of 6-10 yr olds walking through the woods by thereself with loaded guns

Congrats to you and Phillip on what I'm sure was a memorable hunt. Can't wait till my sons are old enough to have similar experiences. Thanks for sharing.

Well today was the last day for The vermont bow season.. I didn't fill my tag but that's fine, This isn't the first and it wont be the last tag I get to hang onto.
During the season I had chances at a couple different Doe's but those were iffy shots and I'd rather make a good safe kill shot than take an iffy shot that might ony wound that Deer..
Thankfully, I was there while Phillip got his Doe (and first bow kill) which once again creates a memorable 2007 Bow season for sure......
Now I have to wait for the vermont rifle season which starts Nov. 10th 2007, In the meantime good luck to all you hunters still in season... Be safe and be successful
