otf... that's good for them. I'm just saying I wouldn't go to the field without it on unless I'm going to be in a blind or concealed box blind. I don't buy the expensive stuff at all. I buy the cheap on sale stuff. I have a pair of redhead insulated overalls that i bought about 6 years ago that I still wear and my wife has sown up about 10 times. Bought them for $60 on sale. Was in the national guard, so I have two nice field jackets I use as heavy winter coats... but wal-mart had a sale last year on their heavy Remington winter camo coats ($30!!!) and I got one, It's warmer than my army issue stuff.

Agreed, but it sure does a better job than no camo if a deer spots you. At least you blend in!

I think camo really works. I have had does see me move
and I freeze and they do the foot stomp and head bob trying to catch me move again. After what seems like an eternity they go back to doing what they were doing and don't pay attention to me. The camo really helps me blend into the tree, being still is a whole nother challenge.

all in all though, camo is our uniform. just like ball players, police officers and military personel have theirs, we have ours. hunt camp just wouldnt be the same if everyone showed up in their everyday wear.

There nothing like the feeling of suiting up in clean no odor camo! Gets you in the right mindset for a good day of hunting!
Maybe the feeling of hunkering over a harvested deer in camo is a little better:)

Regardless of the camo pattern in my blind, I like to hang branches on it to match the surroundings - this is the ultimate way to camouflage your stand. Your stand will become practically invisible. That said, I prefer a darker camo since it works especially well with branches hung in front of it. My favorite cover is evergreens (spruce) as it offers nice year-round camouflage. Also, evergreens cuttings will provide some nice natural cover scent.

I do the same thing with pine, cedar, hemlock. When my stand is up you have to look pretty hard to find it. Many times in the dark morning I've walked past it and had to regroup.
