Opening Weekend Blues

Well guys I spent three hunts sitting in the woods awful lonely. Not a single deer came to visit.Alas the moon was so full all night you could hardly tell when shooting hours were over.If it weren't for the birds and squirrels I'd of been real bored.lol
So much for my first ever bowhunt.I was 30 feet away from the thicket where these deer bed down and I've taken some good ones in this very spot.I will be back but hopefully with a moon more in my favor and up a tree this time.Still felt like the best theropy I've had since tha gurl's hunt a couple weeks ago.
Good luck to all and to all a good night.

Walk softly, keep the wind in your face and watch your backtrail

i think the majority of us had the blues this opening bow season. makes the deer hunting that much better when you do finally get one with a bow.

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky
