 makeing a bow? Hi there just wondering how many make their own bows?(longbow) I'm just getting started in this and would like some advice. i.e. types of wood, and equipment that you all use. I've done alot of wood working on rifle stocks and am an avid hunter looking for a new project to fill my idle hands.  |

| I made a long bow last year with the directions from an old fox fire book. i stuck a strong piece of bamboo in a home made mold and let it dry there for bout a month. i got a hold of some jug fishing string and drilled a hole through each end till it was pretty taught. turns out 7 months later i'm still shootin with it and it's got a 45 lb draw weight. Bamboo is really quiet too! |
