recurve bows

ronn, how's that recurve bow shooting? I'm bidding on a couple of older Bear bows. Have a dozen custom cedar arrows being built in Tenn right now. Bidding on 45-50 lb bows. After I saw your custom built bow I got the urdge to monkey around again with them. Hope you shooting well!

Flexj, the arrows are coming from Brian Ferguson @ allwood arrows. He has a whole lot to look at on line or you can have him custom make arrows to your specs like I did. He uses real turkey feathers. I'm getting forrest green cresting with black pin striping using 2 green dyed barred and 1 natural barred feathers with white nocks. Black nocks would look cool but I needed something to see and went with white.

Its been several years since I've shot recurves but its a whole new ball game vs compounds. Plus they are so quiet to shoot, pure enjoyment as long as you hit what you're aiming at!

Finally got the new cedar arrows, very nice. They shoot straight and fairly fast from the recurve. Just finished bidding on a couple of older recurves and have 1 more in the morning to try for. These are mostly 45# @ 28" draw Bear black panther, grizzly, Shakesphere, Ben Person, ect. I'm trying to help the back muscles improve and then strengthen everything for the compound hunting. Also, its a blast to shoot these things in the back yard and they're fairly inexpensive if you watch what you're doing. You should see the son taking an interest in the old style!

Got the third recurve today. A bear grizzly 58" 47#@28"
Bear Black Panther 52" 40# draw @28", and last Shaksphere necedah 58" 45#@ 28 draw. All are in very good condition and draw/shoot just like new. I hope the bows will tighten up the shoulder muscles to make shooting compound more steady. I have varing weakness in the right shoulder and neck following surgery and thought that shooting recurves for therapy might help.
