welcome to the forum and the hunting world.the first thing you need is the right frame of mind.bow hunting takes a lot of patience and discipline..the rewards are worth it though.you need a proper fitted bow and arrows and a good practice target or range to go to.try to practice year round.start small and work up to longer distances.I shoot from the ground and from a tree stand.you need to wear a safety harness every time if you go up in the trees.I suggest the Hunter Safety Systems vest style .wear your hunting outfit when you practice so nothing surprises you when you draw back.I wear a arm sleeve from team realtree and recommend it as well..hang around here and im sure you will pick up tons of knowledge

Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky
