If possible buy your bow from an archery specialist instead of a big store like walmart. The reason I say that is you will pay a little extra but the expert setup and advice you get is worth way more than the price saved. Getting a bow setup properly is everything in hunting.

If you don't have friends that are well experienced in shooting form I would look for an archery club to join. Remember the old coaches saying "practice don't make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect"

I have a few friend that are well into hunting and they are going to teach me how to shoot! That's the reason i got into hunting. All my friends do it. Itsa like mom said "If you friends jump off a bridge, would you too?" Well, I guess so mom! LOL
