Bhead problem

Okay, here goes... day before yesterday i was talked into going clear across the state to do the thanksgiving thing.. about 30mins from town there is a pub hunting area.. i never been there and didnt know much about it. its around a lake and most of the area is lake shore.. i looked at the maps and picked a spot that i thought was good. this place is in SW Oklahoma which is 98% farm land... cotton and then for fall its wheat. i found a small like 100 yard choke point between a field and the shore. there was deer track all over the place. i went in thanksgiving morning and was going to put my stand in a tree and hunt. since i never been there i waited until sun up to make my move.. i know it was a bad time but i really just wanted to be in the woods. as am walking to the spot the deer come alive... i mean ALIVE... they were all does but there had to have been 25 that i seen just walking to my stand.. i didnt spook any so i was stoked. i get about 60 yards from my picked out tree when i look to my south and there were 2 more very large does. they were walking right for me between me and my tree. well to make a long story short i sat my stand and pack latter down and waited for them. i was going to fill a tag while i was on the ground or at least try to. this big doe gets 20-25 yards away and i let one fly.. it was a good shot... she ran back down the way she came then jumped the fence into that field and ran down the fence line and at the end of the field she went into the woods about 250 yards away. i found my arrow with only a small amount of hair and blood about 5 inches down the shaft.. i said WTF...i started looking for a bit of blood and boy did i find some... mucho bloodo... big blood spots with air bubs in the blood. that tells me i got a good lung shot. i shoot a older matthews @67lbs i shot her with basspro brand blackouts 3 blade expandables. i would think that im shooting enough poundage to go all the way through her. any ways i followed the blood to where she jumped the fence and the it was gone..... i spent 3 hours at that spot and around the area and never found anything... im telling you it was like i went out there with a paint can and painted the blood trial, it was that good.. but once over the fence it was gone. i have to think it was the heads i was using.. i went out and got some thunder heads to use tomorrow but i need to know what happend.. i would have rather missed her then not find here. tell me what you guys think

Its just a bad dream...... Go back to sleep...

I'm guessing only but it sounds like you hit the shoulder blade and only got one lung. It's fatal but she could go a long way if pushed. You could probably find her tomorrow. Now with new heads you better test them because more than likely they will fly different. Not too sure that is such a great idea.

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky
