New Hunter!!!

New to the Eastern North Carolina area. I was wanting any useful info about food plots for this area, when the rut starts, any good info to get a jump on things.

Where will you be hunting?

Where are you hunting on-Post, Gamelands, or off-post? Right now the deer are moving late evening and nighttime area Ft Bragg, NC. I have hunted on post, gameland, and family land in North Carolina for some years. The best tactic for off post this time is "ambushing" (one game trails or baiting.

welcome to the site.thank you for your service

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky
