I still use the old prong style, on a new bow I would look at the fall away rests.

Red face

A fall away will give you truer flight from your arrow as well as less noise from your shot. It just boils down to personal preferences. I now use a fall away and have noticed a remarkable increase of accuracy a longer ranges. Word of advice is if you chose a fall away buy one that will hold the arrow in place even if the bow is bumped.

Whisker biscuit...not as accurate, but at least you know your arrow isn't coming off the rest. Some of the newer prong style (or maybe just the drop aways) have a system to hold the arrow too. I think these would work good as wmi suggested, but I don't have any experience with them yet. If you use a prong style make sure you keep your silencers in good shape.

Default full containment fall away

Quality Archery Design makes a rest called Ultra Rest HD Pro Series that is pretty impressive. It is a full drop away that is also a full containment. You can lock the forks up so the arrow wont fall any where but when you shoot it automatically drops. You aught to check it out.

It seems like alot of bowhunters here use or have used a whisker buscuit rest. I have used one for four years now but am not real happy with the sound of the carbon arrows sliding through when I draw. Does anyone have some tips or advice on how to quiet this?
